SLV Conservation Poster Contest

In partnership with San Luis Valley conservation districts, the NACD (National Association of Conservation Districts) hosts an annual poster contest for 5th and 6th graders. Students learn about a unique conservation topic and submit an original piece of art to their local conservation district with the possibility of advancing to the state and national level. Each year a conservation theme is chosen from a rotation of water, soil, habitats, and forestry.
RGWCEI provides interactive presentations for classrooms and online learners, giving background knowledge on the topic, and conveying contest details. Our presentations are aligned with 5th & 6th Colorado life science standards with connections to local conservation efforts. We also provide additional learning resources, entry forms, and poster boards for all participants. The entry deadline is typically mid-October; contact hannah@rgwcei.org in August or early September if you are interested.
